The T07 housing series is an extremely powerful camera housing concept suitable for hazardous and explosion risk areas and is certified according to European regulations (ATEX) as well as international ones (IECEx).

Ex-d Camera Enclosures

The housings’ certification comprises ATEX group I (mining) with a low risk of mechanical threat as well as ATEX group II for zone 1, 2 as well as 21 and 22 including the explosion groups IIC / IIIC with a high risk of mechanical threat. In accordance with the requirements of the impact and free-fall tests (DIN EN 60079: 0 2012), the Ex-d camera enclosures are suitable for fix and mobile (portable) applications!

Explosion Proof Camera Housings

During the housing’s development stage the focus was clearly laid on security aspects as well as mechanical precision and high-quality stainless steels. In addition, the modular conception of the housing system allows a free combination of the individual housing components such as different flanges in combination with the housing body – without any limitations regarding explosion protection. Regarding the technical parameters we have pushed the limits of what is feasible so that the T07-Series defines new standards – may it be with regard to media resistance, temperature range, impact resistance or the application possibilities. Due to the compact dimensions of the housing body, available in two different sizes, and the plain and timeless design, we have achieved to develop a housing series which is, despite its extreme ruggedness, optically elegant as well as hapitically soothing. After almost one year of development, laboratory testing and TÜV certifications we are proud to have one of the world’s most robust and flexible camera housing combinations in our portfolio.

Use own camera in blast proof housing bodies

The heart of the modular design is the two housing bodies which differ in diameter. The more narrow VA1.x housing body can be equipped, on both sides, with flanges disposing of a 6-fold blind hole ring. The wider VA2.x housing body can hold two flanges with up to 8 blind holes. Instead of executing the flange connections disposing of threads, we have decided for an execution with cylinder thread flanges. This implementation and the associated fitting tolerances allow a very simple assembly of the individual housing components. In addition, the different flanges can be varied freely. It is, for example, possible to use different glass types for the optical flanges or to furnish the flanges for the cable glands with different hole patterns and configurations. Within the limits of the maximum length, it is also possible to freely determine the length of the housing body. Even the larger VA2.2 housing does not exceed a void volume of two liters so that for explosion group IIB the screw joints can be sealed with regular rubber rings. Since the potential explosion energy decreases in relation to the housing volume, it is possible to shorten both housing bodies in order to exactly meet your requirements. And no matter how you configure the housing – it is always extremely robust and safe!

IP68, media resistance and sealings

Due to the high-quality materials used for the T07 Series, it meets the requirements of a comprehensive media resistance list! It is also possible to freely select different stainless steel alloys to reflect the best execution for the applicable application. Even a coating or powder coating of the housing is feasible to realize individual media resistance requirements. The particularly designed GYLON (PTFE) flat sealing does not only ensure the housing to be watertight (IP68) but also supports the resistance towards several chemicals. The extremely robust and scratch-proof as well as high-impact resistant borosilicate glass fits perfectly into the high-quality materials of the housing body.

Use of cameras in mining

As one of the first pressure-tight camera protection systems, the T07 Series meets all mining requirements (environments susceptible of fire damps) and is certified according to ATEX/IECEx for equipment group I M2 (Mb). If the housing series is used in in mining environments with a low risk of mechanical damages it is even not necessary to equip the housing with an additional device in order to protect the borosilicate glass! As a result, the T07 Series allows for the first time a usage of stationary as well as mobile surveillance systems underground.

Temperatures

Also with regard to the allowed ambient temperature range the new housing series sets new standards. The ambient temperature can range between -60° C and +85° C and in addition we have, in cooperation with the TÜV Rheinland, carried out extensive temperature measurements in order to determine the heat dissipation of the various housing combinations in relation to the introduced electrical power loss. With this measure it is very easy to evaluate the maximum surface temperature as well as the temperature classes when obtaining the equipment certificate.

Mobile & stationary applications

In accordance with the requirements of the impact and free-fall tests (DIN EN 60079: 0 2012), the housings of the der T07 Series are certified as fixed as well as mobile explosion proof components. As a result, the application possibilities are almost unlimited.
